تدين المنظمة السورية لحقوق الانسان سواسية مقتل الطالب همام وليد رقية تحت التعذيب في فروع الأمن السورية بعد اعتقاله من بلدته جيرود بريف دمشق واختفائه لمدة ثلاثة أشهر دون أن تعلم عائلته بمكانه حتى اتصلت السلطات الأمنية بأهله في يوم الخميس 28 تشرين الأول لعام 2010 وطلبت منهم الحضور في 30 تشرين الأول لعام 2010 لاستلام جثته دون توضيح عن سبب الوفاة ومنعوهم من إقامة أي مظهر من مظاهر العزاء
تطالب المنظمة السورية لحقوق الإنسان سواسية بفتح تحقيق مستقل ونزيه بحادثة القتل تحت التعذيب المجرم عليها بالقانون الدولي ووضع الجناة تحت تصرف العدالة ومحاكمتهم في ظل محاكمة مستقلة ونطالب بالتعويض المادي والمعنوي لأسرة الفقيد المفجوعة بمقتل ابنها
