The Syrian Human Rights Organization (Sawasiah)
The Security Council may investigate any dispute, or any situation which might lead to international friction or give rise to a dispute, in order to determine whether the continuance of the dispute or situation is likely to endanger the maintenance of international peace and security.
(Article 34 of the Charter of the United Nations)
Information leaked from the Syrian regime within Damascus indicates the possibility of postponing the folkloric and farcical presidential referendum through which the Syrian regime has been accustomed to celebrate itself every seven years, re-nominating Assad the Father, and after him Assad the Son, so as to allow him to extort two more years in power. The United States is said to have given the green light to this arrangement, as a reward to Bashar Al-Assad for turning over Syria’s arsenal of chemical weapons, which Washington feared could be turned against Israeli children if they should leave the “safe” (according to the American expression) hands of Bashar Al-Assad and pass into the unreliable hands of the opposition (according to the American expression). This arsenal was in fact turned against the children of Syria, and in the night of 8/21/2013, more than 1600 civilian victims fell within minutes. It is natural that this rotten political decision, involving the extension of Bashar Al-Assad at the helm in Syria for an additional two years, should have Russian cover or a Russian face, as is always the case with decisions of the U.N. Security Council that involve standing on the wrong side of history and at the side of tyrants and international criminals, and finding them escape routes from accountability and punishment.
In parallel with this, the Russian government is putting pressure on the Swedish government to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Russian President Vladimir Putin, for his direct partnership in the bloodbath committed by Bashar Al-Assad in Syria and that has resulted in:
–More than 200,000 victims since the beginning of the events in Syria, of whom more than 110,000 documented civilian victims, over a quarter of them women and children.
–Deaths from chronic diseases due to the closure and to sanctions and to policies of collective punishment have certainly exceeded 1% of the population, meaning 230,000 victims at the very least.
–Deaths due to the interruption of health services in more than 90% of the total resources dedicated to the use of the institutions of the health sector, now confined to the main hospitals in the capital, the bombing of other health centers and hospitals or the impossibility of accessing them, amount to 600,000 to 650,000 victims; it should also be noted that we have in Syria nearly 30,000 doctors who are currently not working, of whom nearly 20,000 are outside of the country, in addition to the targeting of medical personnel by the regime’s military apparatus, leaving a disaster in the medical field.
–We have in Syria 5 million people displaced outside of Syria, of whom 2 million refugees registered with the United Nations and more than 3 million who are unregistered as refugees.
–We have in Syria between 8 and 10 million internally displaced people, vulnerable to all forms of abuse by the forces of the regime and of the sectarian militias affiliated with it, from the detention of males over the age of 15 for conscription into the forces of the regime, to sexual offenses committed by government forces at roadblocks against young women and minors.
–More than 60% of the civilian infrastructure has been completely destroyed and cannot be used in any way, as Google maps show and as we have stated. And all this against the backdrop of the dirty hands of the Russian government in the U.N. Security Council using their veto power three times in the interests of the regime in Damascus that is killing its people, as well as financial help and intelligence, military, and logistical assistance, which Russia has provided to Assad, thereby enabling him to cause all these human and humanitarian losses.
Second: The person who bears first and ultimate responsibility for this unprecedented human tragedy is the power-obsessed international criminal, Bashar Al-Assad.
Third: In the face of the attempts by the masters of evil in this world, starting with the leaders of the Kremlin and ending with some Arab human rights organizations, to find this international criminal an exit with impunity, and to build an illusory peace at the expense of justice, something that is unthinkable under any circumstances, the Syrian Human Rights Organization has decided:
–To use the term “the power-obsessed international criminal” as a title for Bashar Al-Assad, rather than the term “the Syrian President.”
–That anyone who is proved to be responsible for the shedding of Syrian blood in any way, whether by enabling the international criminal or by supplying him with weapons or by inciting him to commit crimes or by trying to cover them up or by partnership in crime with him or by finding him a way out, will be considered by the Syrian Human Rights Organization to be a partner of the international criminal Bashar Al-Assad, and will be given the title of international criminal rather than his official title.
–In view of the role placed by the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, and the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, whether by inciting to crime or providing cover to the criminal and protecting him and attempting to secure for him a way out, as is the case with the first and the second, Vladimir Putin and Sergei Lavrov, or by material and moral participation in the crime, as is the case of all three of them, the Syrian Human Rights Organization has decided to prefix their names with “the international criminal,” wherever found, and as an expression of truth and reality.
–The natural place for the power-obsessed international criminal Bashar al-Assad is in prison, as punishment for him and those like him for their disregard for the blood of the Syrians; the principles of accountability, responsibility, and the fight against impunity transcends everything in the face of the humanitarian and human price that the Syrian people have paid.
Background:
The power-obsessed international criminal Bashar Al-Assad has tried to justify his crimes against the Syrian people, which to date have killed more than 12,800 children, by linking Syria’s continued existence with his own, through false allegations that there are 2000 terrorist groups that have joined the armed opposition since the beginning and that they do not leave the regime any option other than to get rid of them.
These words of the international criminal are entirely devoid of truth, given that:
First:
–The Syrian revolution erupted on 15/3/2011.
–On 25/3/2011, the Syrian regime announced that the army was going down into the streets to suppress the peaceful demonstrations, and the killing was from one side only.
–The first call for the establishment of the Free Syrian Army came on 29/07/2011, from the first officer to defect.
–On 16/7/2012, the International Committee of the Red Cross declared the existence of a non-international armed conflict in Syria, that is, 16 months after the outbreak of the Syrian revolution.
–During these 16 months, the international criminal Bashar Al-Assad missed hundreds if not thousands of opportunities for a peaceful solution, and settled on violence and murder and genocide, such that a river of blood now runs between him and the Syrians.
Second:
–Foreigners present in Syria are a reaction to the shameful complicity of the permanent members of the U.N. Security Council with the regime in Damascus that kills its own people.
–The proportion of foreign fighters in the ranks of the Free Syrian Army does not exceed 3%, according to documented studies.
–The problem for the West is that according to studies conducted by the International Center for Study of Radicalisation at King’s College, London, is that more than 600 of them are Europeans, and according to statements by the Australian foreign minister, there are more than 200 Australians fighting with the armed opposition, and interestingly, many of them are Christian.
–The issue of Syria has become an issue of conscience for the world, and has most regrettably exposed the international system represented by the United Nations and international law, and what is at stake is the extent of its usefulness for regulating international relations in the third millennium, given the existence of Mafia states like Russia, headed by an international criminal like Vladimir Putin whom Russia is attempting to have nominated for the Nobel Peace prize, which would be the greatest farce in human history.
