- الناس جميعاً سـواء أمام القانون وهم يتساوون في حق التمتع بحماية القانون دون تميز ، كما يتساوون في حق الحماية من أي تميز ينتهك هذا الإعلان ومن أي تحريض على مثل هذا التميز

تتابع المنظمة السورية لحقوق الإنسان بقلق شديد الأوضاع اللاإنسانية التي تتعامل بها إدارة السجن السياسي في سجن دمشق المركزي مع المعتقلين السياسيين فقد قامت إدارة السجن بالامتناع عن إدخال المتطلبات الأساسية للمعتقل الأستاذ علي العبد الله من ألبسة داخلية وأشياء شخصية كما علمت المنظمة أن الأستاذ العبد الله يتلقى معاملة مهينة من أحد سجانيه والذي يجبره على اتخاذ أوضاع حاطه بالكرامة الإنسانية إمعانا في زيادة معاناته الناتجة عن الحجز الانفرادي منذ تاريخ توقيفه وحتى الآن والذي يعتبر أحد أشكال التعذيب المعنوي أصافة إلى منعه من الاختلاط ببقية السجناء أثناء فترة التنفس التي تتم مرتين أسبوعيا ولمدة نصف ساعة فقط.
إننا في المنظمة السورية لحقوق الإنسان إذ ندين مجمل هذه الممارسات التي لا تتوافق مع الحدود الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء والتي تعد إجراءا انتقاميا بحق المعتقلين السياسيين فإننا نطالب الحكومة السورية ممثلة بوزارة الداخلية للتدخل الفوري لوقف هذه الممارسات اللاإنسانية والمخالفة لقانون السجون السوري والمتعارضة مع جميع المواثيق الدولية التي نصت على وجوب احترام الكرامة الأصلية للمحرومين من حريتهم, كما نطالب بالإفراج الفوري عن الأستاذ العبد الله وجميع المعتقلين السياسيين ومعتقلي الرأي والضمير وطي ملف الاعتقال السياسي بشكل كامل وجعله صفحة من الماضي.
